LAKE ARVO OF THE PLATEAU SILANE

Lake Arvo, nestled between the two highest peaks of the plateau silane, or Botte Donato Montenero on one side and on the other, makes it even more charming and enchanting place.
And the lake is navigable, and over the years has hosted the rowing and windsurfing, and lately in the summer time can be crossed by renting paddleboats or taking a ride on a motor means.

The village has had a rapid growth after 1930, when it was completed the dam that gave birth to the lake Arvo. They were built major hotel and accommodation facilities, restaurants and conference rooms, but above all was approved the plans to build ski slopes downhill on the slope steeper than Botte Donato with its ski lifts.

In 2002 the village silane, was chosen as the ideal place to house the headquarters of the Sila National Park just set up.
